Transforming Government Through Prayer
Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. – 1 Chronicles 29:11-12
There is a government of governments, a kingdom of kingdoms, and one source from whom all receive strength and might. Local governments are only as effective as their alignment to God's purpose. Great benefits and promises are reserved for nations who rule with righteousness and justice according to Scripture. God has great hope and purpose for every agency, representative, official, and office.
Prayer is the most effective way the body of Christ engages in government from a heavenly perspective. God has given Christians exclusive access to His government as the ekklesia. Paul instructs Timothy that the church should engage in politics not along party lines but along the principles and values of righteousness.
Arkansas For Christ engages in a variety of prayer ministries for government agencies, representatives and officials at the Arkansas Capitol Building.
